I read two poems of farewell: one for friends who have recently died of Alzheimer's, and the closing poem, which was a farewell to a young woman I met briefly in Manhattan, who seemed to sum up many of my lovely experiences when we lived in New York City. These bookend our first love letters written in Northern California.
